Q: This has been going on for over a year now, but when i turn my pc on and press the power button on the tower, the monitor doesn't seem to realise that the tower is sending a signal. however, if i then turn off the main power switch at the back of the tower, and then flick it back on again, the monitor comes on. it is a plug and play monitor and it has worked perfectly in the past. Cheers in advance! it comes up with no signal and switches to standby. all cables are connected because it works if i switch it off at the back, then on again.
A: Make sure that all of the connections in the back of the PC and monitor are all pushed in nice and tight and screwed in if applicable. Once you have started windows, see if there are any updates for your graphics card drivers. Does your monitor come up with no signal? or any messages? EDIT: If it comes up with "no signal" that means that the monitor is fine and it is either the graphics card drivers or a dodgey VGA cable. See if there are any updated drivers available for your video card, if not then try a differeng VGA cable.
