Q: can i use any 10.4 restore disk for my powerbook? i dont have the one for this computer, there are some of my friends' and they have an imac 17" and a few other ones, can i use their restore disks on my computer? also, if i were to re-install the operating system, how exactly would i do that?
A: Restore disk? You can probably start up from someone else's MacOs X CD or DVD. Just hold down the "c" key on a restart. The Mac probably won't let you install the new software if it is computer specific.
