Q: I'm thinking of getting a laptop but I don't know which one
A: Alright, here is what's going on. When you purchase a Mac computer, you are not purchasing anything different from any other computer on the market. All the same pieces are still there, it all works the same way. You are purchasing an operating system. If you like the idea of not having to worry about virus protection, go with Mac. If you like the idea of having all your applications work all the time, go with Mac. if you like the idea of having a computer run well for the entire duration of its life, go with Mac. On the other hand, if you like playing a lot of advanced games, go with Windows. If you like using a computer and dont care what is happening inside it or why things are working, go with Windows. If you like constantly monitoring your system for viruses because your OS can't do it by itself, go with Windows. If you like damaging your components, go with Windows. However, if you like all the ideas of Mac, and you also like the idea of having it all for free, go with Linux. Everything that has been developed for Mac also exists in some fashion for Linux. Do note that you will occasionally have to run the command line to install things, but really, how hard is it to type "./configure make make install"? Thats all it takes. sometimes its even less than that. Oh, and in case you were wondering, Mac and Linux are almost exactly the same, and Mac and BSD are the same. You can even make your linux system look just like a Mac if you want to.
