What is this drop down toolbar on my Toshiba Satellite notebook with Vista?

Q: I have recently bought a Toshiba Satellite notebook with Vista and I'm trying to figure out what this annoying toolbar is that drops down from the top of the screen when I hover the mouse at the top of the screen? It's a transparent grey colour and doesn't even do anything when I try to click on any of it's buttons! Sorry I can't give any examples of what the buttons are because I don't have it with me. But I really want to turn it off, it's always dropping down and getting in the way!

A: Hey I've had the same problem since I bought mine in December of last year. I just read your message, actually on the hunt for answers. Not 5 minutes after reading this message, I discovered a way to not fully remove, but lessen the annoyance GREATLY. Simply scroll up to the top so that the bar appears, and move over to the + sign to the right. Click it and a menu where you can set the button preferences should slide down. Drag all the white buttons to the list above them, they should overlap with duplicates. There's one button you wont be able to move, it was grey for me. I hope that helps you out!
