Problems with Date and Time on my Mac laptop?

Q: Everyday, when I turned my Mac on, the date and time is always changed back to 01/01/1970. 1970?????? Come on! This laptop is only a few years old. A little message always appears on the screen and said like this: [Your computer's clock is set to a date before March 24th, 2001. This may cause some applications to behave erratically. Please use the Date& Time preference panel to set the clock manually. For more info, choose Mac Help from the Help Menu.] I have to click on Date and Time to change it back to normal and lock it everyday. Why has it unlocked itself and gone all mad? I'm getting very impatient with this. How do I prevent this from happening? Thanks

A: Exactly the same thing happened to my Mac before. Read this through, it'd help you: The Power Manager is an integrated circuit (computer chip) that is usually on the logic board of the PowerBook and iBook. As the name implies, it is responsible for power management of the computer. It controls backlighting, hard disk spin down, sleep and wake, some charging aspects, trackpad control, and some input/output as it relates to the computer sleeping. Over time, the settings in the Power Manager may become unusable, which can result in operational anomalies with the computer. Examples include not turning on, not waking from sleep, not charging the battery, or not seeing the AC Adapter, among others. Resetting the PMU is not intended for resolution of a stall or situation in which the computer is unresponsive. A PMU reset should not be necessary except as a last resort in cases where a hardware failure of the power management system is suspected. Performing a PMU reset returns the iBook and PowerBook hardware, including NVRAM, to default settings and forces the computer to shut down. For most situations, a restart is sufficient. If the computer has stopped responding, try these steps, in order, until the computer responds: 1.Force Quit (Option-Command-Escape) 2.Restart (Control-Command-Power) 3.Force Shut Down (press the power button for 10 seconds) PowerBook G4 (15-inch 1.67/1.5GHz) PowerBook G4 (17-inch 1.67GHz) PowerBook G4 (15-inch Double-Layer SD) PowerBook G4 (17-inch Double-Layer SD) 1.If the computer is on, turn it off. 2.Disconnect the AC Adapter and remove the computer's battery. 3.Press and hold down the power button for 5 seconds and then release the button. 4.Reconnect the battery and AC Adapter. 5.Press the Power button to restart the computer.
