Q: simple question... if i was to take my macbook hard drive out and put it on my laptop and installed windows would it work?
A: The cable connections need to be the same.Depending on whether that hard drive is (PATA) (parallel advanced technology attachment) or (SATA) (serial advanced technology attachment) it attaches via a (PATA) transfer cable to the motherboard or a (SATA) transfer cable to the motherboard respectively. Both are (IDE) Devices, Integrated Drive Electronics/ Interface. In either case there is also a power supply cord attached to it from the (Power Supply unit) to provide it with power.
