A: the answer before me is right. it is only a trial version. i think you can open it 25 times or so before it expires. You need to BUY microsoft office in order to use it. it does not come free. it is about $160 or so it depends where you buy it. once you have it, it comes with a product key and that is the one you use. unless you paid to have the program already installed in the laptop. if you only want it for word and you do not want to pay for it, you can always just use microsoft works task launcher and they have a program to write documents. i think it comes free on most computers
