Q: Also, is there a built in microphone in this laptop, too? If so, how do you activate it for talking? This is a HP Pavilion dv 9810us notebook. When this machine was purchased by another, I didn't get to see an owner's manual.
A: No Owners Manual? Like, no Users Guide? Well, why didn't you say so! Okay, wasn't as easy as I thought it would be! Usually the User Guide is about all you can get. I did find that it uses the HP Photosmart Essentials. Not that familiar with Vista. I believe you click on the Windows icon button on the left, to see All Programs, (Believe this replaced the Start button.), hover your mouse cursor on All Programs. To the right you should see HP. Slide your mouse cursor to it, and look for HP Photosmart. See if webcam is listed there. Click on it. Follow the instructions. You may have to go to a Help section in here, and look around.
