Q: I want to upgrade my hard drive and im looking on ebay, many listings say i make sure my laptop is compatible but they dont exactly tell how, you know for someone like me who doesnt know a whole lot about hardware. and for that matter, what specs should i be looking at so I know im getting a good hard drive? A: you just need to make sure that the new hd has the same connection as the old one, such as ide or sata connections, if it has the same connection type it should work fine, also make sure it is a 2.5 inch hd you get as this is the size all laptops use, desktops use a 3.5 inch hd
