Q: If you are at all familiar with the ITX form factor board, you would realize the immense potential for custom systems that can be built with it. For example, here is a custom built laptop that was built with one. http://www.mini-itx.com/projects/itx-laptop/?p Take a look. Check it out. The page includes pictures of the build as it was done. I've even been told that this thing doesn't exist, and that it isn't really a laptop. Has anyone here had any success with one of these boards? Oh, and Big Dave... regardless of the difference between an ITX form factor, and the proprietary parts used by major laptop manufacturing companies, a motherboard is a motherboard. You can build a desktop with laptop parts... and with one of these boards, you can apparently build a laptop. So, has anyone else built a custom system that is out of the ordinary? Best answer gets the 10 points. It does fold up, and it is portable, so although it is not all sleek, it can be used on a lap, and moved from place to place. But from the responses so far, no one has built a custom system like this. I guess no one has built themselves a completely customized system like the example I gave.
A: doesnt look very portable to me ---looks more like a desktop or the very first attempt at a laptop cool project though---have seen comps made out of old radios and anything u can shove a motherboard in---but still cool looking --would need a redwagon to drag it around
