Q: I want to get a better processor for my laptop but I don't know too much about upgrading this type of hardware. I have an HP Compaq 6715b with an AMD Mobile Sempron Processor. Would I be able to upgrade this laptop to an AMD Mobile Turion 64 x2 processor? How can I tell if I can or not? Thank you!
A: your laptop mobo is supposed to have the AMD 690T chipset, which does support the Turion 64x2. If you want to be sure just download CPU-Z and run it, and see if it confirms that it has the 690T chipset.
