Q: i hooked up my macbook pro to my samsung hdtv. i just bought a hdmi to dvi cable. i guess im suppose to buy an audio cable now. but what kind? and also. how do i make it so that i can just turn the macbook to sleep and still be able to use it on the tv? please help!
A: Audio depends on what you're plugging in to. Best bet is optical if your audio system supports optical. Your MB's headphone port is also a mini-toslink optical port. Otherwise, just use a standard headphones to RCA adapter to get the audio into your audio system. You cannot have your macbook sleep and also drive your tv at the same time.
