Q: I just got a new Laptop. I brought it home, and took the charger and laptop out of the box. I plugged the charger in just as the instructions said to. I had to push a little harder than I think I should've to get it into the port. Anyways, no lights are on or anything. When I turned it on it said it didn't recognize the charger and may not charge. Could someone please tell me why, and what I can do to fix it please? Thanks. Sorry..No lights on the laptop. The light on the adapter saying it's plugged in is working. I re-read the entire manual carefully and apparently missed the part that said "Will charge when the laptop is turned off, and use the power from the outlet when the laptop is active." Thanks for the answers though.
A: Hmm from the things you say it looks like an hardware issue. Have you checked the battery status in Windows when you plug-in the adapter ? I suggest that you call dell about it if you also see in Windows that it won't charge. Regards, Johan visit my site: www.johanveldhuis.nl
