Q: Someone split water on my dad's laptop computer. When he opened it, it was a little damp. His mouse pad isn't working, but his keys are. Everything seems to be running fine except it beeps when it is turned on, but then proceeds to a normal welcome screen. My dad really loves this thing and to see him sad about it is breaking my heart. I looked up some tips online, but they all seem really vague. If someone can help that would be great. The thing is, we think my mother accidently knocked over a glass of water this morning on it. She's asleep though (not like she'll admit it anyway) My dad usually keeps his laptop open, but it was closed. When he opened it, lo and behold, it was wet. It seemed to only be the mousepad, keys were working okay, but I'm not so sure.
A: If it had water in it and a battery or power hooked up it could be damaged. whenever water gets into any electronics the proper thing to do is remove the batteries and make sure it isn't plugged in and let it dry. If it is only water it will be fine. Water and electricity do not mix though. I think some body should have left some one elses property alone and we wouldn't have this problem.
