Q: I want to buy a fast laptop for uni and i need to be able to take it out and about, max 13in screen, i like the look of sony vaio 11in but its too much 1300 smakers! my max amount to pay is 1000pounds (my pound sign is not working on this crap laptop lol) i also looked at dell mpx m1330 help my guys and girls
A: I would choose a Sony over Dell any day. Although I've seen many of both in my line of work, the Sony always out-performs Dell on a longer time-line. What i tend to see with laptops is a gradual degradation in performance over a few months to a year from buying it. This seems more prominent in the Dells. You should have a look at the toshiba ranges, I'm sure you'll find something in there to meet your requirements and the prices are within your range. I would say Toshiba are a good all round brand and do seem to last the test of time (besides that, the spare parts are normally cheaper and easier to get hold of.) Hope something from this helps :)
