Q: I bought a new laptop and it came with a Centrino processor. There were others with pentium processors. I was told this one was better? Is that true? Should I have spent a little more more money and got better then Centrino?
A: There isn't really a difference. Centrino is just a type of chipset for Intel computers that is supposed to be better for laptops, they claim it gives it better battery life and makes it perform better but there really is no difference. What you should really look at are the processor speed and how many cores it has. The higher the number the better and the more the cores the better.
