Q: Hi, I am going to be using my laptop well just like a desktop cause my desktop machine is gone for repairs. What I mean is that its going to be plugged in to the power cable all the time but I will suspend to ram it once in a while. The question is the battery is fully charged and inside the machine, could this be bad for the laptop's battery cause I have heard in newer models once the battery is 100% charged then its safe to leave it there cause it doesn't get continuous charging. This is a Dell by the way. Thanks :) the reason I am not taking it out is that it just collects dust, so heating isn't a problem, but will it really cause much damage to a new laptop? Its battery is like the entire back bottom side of the laptop so it looks pretty ridiculous and gets a lot of dust :) thank u gen, its a dell inspiron 1525, and its new, I am just saying in case u can help :)
A: dont worry, you'll be fine. if you have vista, it way say XX% charging or XX% fully charged. the former meaning its charging and the latter meaning its running off of your ac adapter. most if not all modern laptops stop charging when they are full.
