Q: I bought an Acer Aspire since my old laptop was getting... well, old. I connected fine to my cable internet connection for three days after I got it, however, I had to leave for three days and now it wont connect to the internet anymore! I know that everything must work fine, otherwise I wouldn't be able to connect to the internet now with my old laptop! Whats going on?
A: Check your internet connections settings in Internet Explorer or any other browser. You may have connected somewhere to public wireless and it automatically configured a proxy server. In IE go to tools/internet options - connections tab - lan settings and make sure the proxy server check box is unchecked. You can also check there to make sure your connections are properly set. Compare to your old notebook if necessary. It could be a MAC address issue, but not likely since you connected once before. Good luck!
