Q: I spilled some water on my laptop last night from my water bottle. It wasn't much (may about a quarter of a water bottle cap full) over the left side of my laptop. It was essentially enough water that touched the w,a,s,d,x keys. I cleaned the keys with a paper towel and I left it alone for a night and turned it on this morning. It still works normally, the keys are still working, and everything seems normal. Did I do everything right? (I have a Toshiba Satellite)
A: You did just fine. The only other things you could have done (after you got as much as you could with a paper towel) was to use a hairdryer, and/or put a paper towel across the keys, close the lid, and leave it upside down for the night to catch any drips. But you're probably ok. (If you're comfortable with your laptop, you could have popped off the keys to see if there was any water under them. They're fairly easy to pop off and on).
