Q: My Acer which i just recently installed XP all over again does not allow me to play any sound on it. i have installed all the neccessary drivers, reinstalled them and installed all the audio drivers latest ones and older versions. i updated my bios and still nothing..arghhh....please help me?? its an acer aspire 5000 with SP3 hey for all, im not that much of a novice, ofcourse the sound is not muted but it wont even let me change the volume settings. it does say that i have realtek installed as my audio driver but i can hear anything from the speakers or the headphone jack
A: i also was having the same problem my empowering technology not working then i understood that the problem is because of windows xp we need to install windows xp service pack 1 or 2 not medium after i installed xp sp2 i downloaded acer e recovery an opened it from there u can install all the hardwares from it now i am safe please try installing win xp sp2 now i made a backup cd and also acer is not a stupid thing u can refer here after installing win xp sp 2 http://www.driverstock.com/Acer-Aspire-5000-driver-download/4-21-12863/index.html
