Q: Should I get a Macbook, or Macbook Pro? Opinions and facts welcome. Umm... what would a 7th-Grader who knows how to flash animate need? Also someone who doesn't play PC Games much? Plus, I'm on my OWN laptop. And it sorta deteriorating.
A: The MacBook pro's look pretty sweet, and are a top notch laptop with very fast processing speeds, lots of ram, lots of HD space, and a great graphics card. However they are expensive, and you need to ask your self if you really need the power. The MacBook is smaller, lighter, and not as powerful, but they have longer battery life and are hundreds of dollars cheeper. It depends on what you need the laptop for. I have been using my white glossy Macbook for over a year (2.16 GHz processor, 2 GB ram, 120GB hard drive, intel integrated graphics with 64 mb of Graphics ram, 8x DVD superdrive) it works great. I use it for all sorts of things, like web development, programing, word processing, spreadsheets, image editing, burning DVDs and I also use it for video editing with Final Cut Express and for some low end 3D animation with the Art of Illusion. Despite the extremely poor graphic card that was installed, it has not kept me from doing things I want to do. I would also like to point out that the newer MacBooks have better cards now. If you really want to do gaming or need to do high end graphics, professional video editing and animation, you will need the MacBook pro due to its graphics card. But if you need it for anything else the macbook will be plenty. Just note that if you want to burn DVD's the base model macbook only has a combo drive, so you would need the mid-grade or black macbook to do that. Just don't get the macbook air.
