Why does my audio still not work?

Q: I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 and I found a red circle and a white X in the circle by my audio logo on the bottom right hand corner of my toolbar. When I put my mouse over it, it says "no audio input device is installed". I tried to look up the sound driver and it said that it could even detect a sound card. What should I do?

A: Try to right click my computer icon then click on hardware. You should be able to see "device hardware" which contains all the devices connected to your computer. Look for the AUDIO device, right click then chose update driver. That should look for the audio driver either int he internet of through the hard drive. If that did not work, insert the installation CD that came with your laptop for you system to locate the Audio driver easily. This should do the trick.
