Q: I want to buy a laptop, nothing too crazy. I'd like to use it for writing, practicing my MS Office 2007 exercises (currently in school for this), I would like it to burn CDs and DVDs, I want to be able to watch movies on it, listen to music (hook up speakers), be able to use a wireless mouse and keyboard with it, and be internet ready (wireless? - not sure how to say this). Also, I want to be able to hook it up to a printer and use an external hard drive to back up my files when needed. I don't need a cam or mic as part of it, but, I want to be able to hook both up when needed. Thank you for all your help. I'm not good with this tech stuff. Fex
A: seems like you don't need a really demanding laptop, looks for this specifications: *cd/dvd burner (dvd+/-rw drive) *usb ports (at least 2) *wireless card integrated (it'll say something like wireless 802.11g wireless LAN) *at least 1gb of memory (ram) *at least 160gb hard drive *2 processors with at least 1.5ghz (dual core if it's amd processor) (core 2 duo if it's intel processor) that's about it, shouldn't cost more than 700 usd
