connecting my laptop to my bt home hub

Q: how do i connect my new accer laptop to my bt home hub

A: hi shantey acer products use something called acer e-net managment which in my opinion is rubbish, and in some cases it can conflict with the windows wireless connection wizard however this is the first port of call for connecting wirelessly with a acer laptop, you will see the "e-net managment" icon in the taskbar, its a small beacon with a signal animation when connected go to the icon and right click it and select "open main e-net managment window"...this will open up the main window, and there you should see all the avalible wireless connections, these will include your neighbours aswell however their connections should be secure locate your home hub (you will find the ssid or hub name on the rear of the hub) and then highlight your hub and click connect ,you will be asked for your w.e.p or w.p.a key so enter this now, after a few seconds your laptop should be connected however i find it much easier to use the bt set-up disk that came with the hub, insert the disk and follow the prompts as they appear,if any security querys appear allow them bt recommend you set up the wireless connection quite close to the hub initially and then once connected move away..note: the new version 2 hub support 802.11n standard which has a much further range than 802.11g/b you can download any bt home hub software from http://www.btopenworld.com/drivers any problems let me know good luck mate !
