Q: Hi - I have a UK laptop with UK 3 pin plug. I'm going to the US next week and would like to take my laptop over, but wasn't sure what I need to power it. I can get a plug converter, 3 pin to 2 pin, but wasn't sure if I need a transformer or something as the voltage is different. Thanks!
A: you wont need a transformer as the voltage in USA is less than UK. (unless its a step-up transformer) Just a standard converter will work. I looked at my Laptop charger, its rated 100v - 240v and 50hz - 60hz. this will work in UK and USA.
