compaq laptop hibernating!! what do i do???

Q: I was watching friends on my sisters compaq laptop and then out of nowhere it said preparing to hibernate. then it completely turned off and i DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!! i'm really scared please help, because this isnt my laptop and the friends dvd is still stuck in there pleasepleaseplease help i've tried holding the power button. the whole screen is black nothign working at all. i even turned it off at the power point and turned it on (which is what i do when this computer freezes) ni'll go and try again. :S its as if its completely died. i've tried holding down the power button pff i'm so dumb i didnt realise the laptop was running on batteries (or not?) but it wasnt connected to anything so the last answer (being a mean answer) was right haha

A: >_> well theres this ting called a power cord, im pretty sure you've heard of one. Maybe you should plug Point A To Be meaning cord to laptop to outlet and maybe it woun't do that anymore.
