Good laptops $500 and under?

Q: I would like it to be fast, good for gaming, and have things I need for school such as microsoft word. Links would be wonderful. Thanks =)

A: Sub-$500 laptops are a relatively new concept. They aren't that powerful and definitely won't be good for playing any games released in the past 2 years. If that is your budget, then i suggest going and doing some comparison shopping of your own. Dell usually offers the cheapest product with the best parts. Microsoft Word can cost upwards of $70 alone, if you want the entire Microsoft Office Suite, it retails for around $399! I am not sure if you are in high school or college or what, but many colleges are able to offer significantly price reduced software to their students. My school sells full licenses of Microsoft Office 2007 for $15 to their students.
