A: Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to track a computer that doesn't have lowjack service prior to the theft. However, if you've recorded the serial number of your laptop, you can report it to the police as stolen. That's a long shot, but it's worth a try. Also, if you lost it in an airport, coffeeshop, or the like, talk to an employee there and they'll have paperwork to file a theft report that goes into their records, you get a copy, and the police get a copy.
