Q: I have a gateway laptop with a 1.40 intel prossesor and 246 mb of ram but how can I check to see if my laptop will run on G or G plus or a N router. and if you connect to routers together does that slow down internet?
A: G and N are both compatible with each other. G is just faster if you have a G router hooked up to your modem and a G wireless adapter hooked up to your laptop. If your Wireless adapter is integrated into your laptop (as in you have no usb connected wireless adapter) then you would have to contact the company that made your laptop to find out if its G or N. but like i said they are compatible with each other. yes 2 routers would split your wireless connection and slow it down. one wireless router can handle many computers anyway so that's totally unnecessary. if you need to extend the signal they sell those separately and you can just plug it into a wall outlet.
