Q: Looking to buy myself a laptop - I know desktops are better for gaming but I really need a laptop for other reasons - and I'm finding the graphics cards aren't great. Would Intel GMA X3100 be good enough to easily run the Sims 2, and potentially 3? If not, what should I be looking for? I have plenty of ram so it's mainly just the graphics I'm concerned about, and I can't afford anything top top of the range.
A: It plays the Sims 2 ok...not great. My guess is that it won't run the sims 3 at all. Sims 3 isn't going to be as easy to run as sims 2. I'm thinking minimum requirements will be an nvidia 6600 or better. Try to find a laptop with an 8600m. That's a very good mid-low end gaming card for a laptop and will run any game fine.
