Q: i am buying Vista OS laptop so i do want to know which will be faster and more relieble (intel 1.8 Ghz (1 gb ram) or amd 1.6 Ghz (2 gb ram)) "intel core 2 duo" and "Mobile AMD Sempron Processor 3600+" respectively
A: Out of the box, the machine with the Sempron will, but if you upgrade the RAM in the Core 2 Duo system, it (the Core 2 system) will be considerably faster. Semprons on Vista especially cannot handle much more than basic music, e-mail, Internet, and office tasks from experience. Playing music with Windows Media Player 11 on Vista with an overclocked Sempron that I used to use would use 25% of the CPU alone. The Core 2 system would probably be more like 15%.
