Q: does it have to be the same brand and the size from the manufaturer or it can be anything
A: The brand and sized totaly doesn't matter just buy it as the same size of your old hard drive. Most laptop hard drives are 2.5. Buy it around there. Take your old drive to the store and ask the the manager which will fit perfectly
