Q: I just spilled Iced Tea on my brand new 1000$ laptop. It's a HP Pavillion DV6000. I spilled it on the keyboard. So I unplugged it and took all the keys out. Wiped and put them back on. It was still sticky and then I turned on my laptop. It made a terrible beeping sound and I found the bottom wet. WHAT DO I DO? I phoned my Computer Repair place and they charge 180$ to clean it. I am a 13 year old kid. I can not afford that. Okay. I have it propped up like a book. I have my PS2/Wii to entertain me anyways. But how long do you think I should wait before I turn it on?
A: Take the battery out Open it around half way and set it up on its side kind of like a book. Let it just dry out for a couple of days. I know you are a kid and a couple of days sounds like a long time but it needs to be dry before you try to turn it on again. Hopefully you didnt burn anything out. If you did then the $180.00 is a low price to fix it. Im sorry that happened to you. I hope its ok.
