Can I add a external wireless G card to a laptop which has an internal wireless B card?

Q: I want to upgrade to a wirless g modem from a wireless B and I want to take advantage of the new router with my laptop

A: Absolutely. I suggest a PCMCIA card. If your laptop does not have to be 100% portable, instead of going wireless, powerline might be a better way to go. You can buy kits such as this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833109032 to give yourself powerline instead of wireless. It is much more secure than wireless. If you find yourself using all powerline and no wireless, I recommend unscrewing the antennas on the back of your router, and go into the interface of your router and turn the wireless off. Powerline is really simple. It is plug and play. Watch this video to learn more: http://youtube.com/watch?v=RElVdy5KwD0
