Toshiba Satellite A205 laptop; blank screen with only the arrow at start up. It won't let me restore. Help?

Q: I know there are tons of other questions similar to mine, but all the answers just don't seem to resolve my problem. Now I'm not great with computers and I don't really want to take it to get it fixed unless I definitely have to. It's basically new, less than 3 months old, and it was working fine until a few weeks ago. It started to go kinda slow and one day the screen went like blank. I tried turning it on and it said error code (some numbers, but I don't remember them) Because one time I tried system repair and it just started going to a blank screen with my cursor in the middle. I can't do anything from there. My System restore disk won't read or something and I have no clue what to do from here. If you want more details, just ask. Thanks.

A: What message do you get when toy rey and re-load from recovery CD To boot from the CD, tab F12 key at POST (Toshiba) screen and select CD/DVD drom te boot menu. IF the laptop will not recover its possible that the HDD is failing. Has the laptop been manually turned off (not the proper shut down procedure from windows) as this could damage the HDD Could also be a problem with the mainboard. If you've only had it 3 months it will still be under warranty so you'll be able to get it sorted for nowt I work with Toshiba laptops so let me know about the above and ill try my best!
