Q:
A: your memory reporting 448MB rather than 512MB means you have an integrated graphics card that is using 64MB of the 512MB (512-448=64) on your computer has this it is not uncommon on some budget laptops and desktops my girlfriend has a laptop with 2GB but it reports 1768MB (or 1GB 768MB) because the graphics card is using 256MB of the system RAM the only way you can get the memory back is to install a dedicated graphics card and disable the on-board graphics which is easier to do on a desktop but not always possible and not possible on a laptop (unless the motherboard allows but unlikely) if the graphics card can't be upgraded and you want more memory go to http://www.crucial.com download and use their memory scanner it will tell you what memory your computer uses and what memory you can buy for it you can use crucials memory its reliable and good value for money or you can go elsewhere when you know what memory you need if you need any extra help email me edwardtrickett@live.co.uk
