Q: I plan on buying a m1730 ,but am waiting for the processors and the new platform to come out. I wanted to know if the quad qx9300 running at 2.53 ghz be better than the dual x9100 running at 3.06 ghz. But, since this is the m1730, is it possible that they will allow overclocking past the 3.4 ghz that they currently have on the x9000? Which should I get?
A: Get the dual, unless you will be running all multi-threaded applications. regular programs only use one core at a time(in xp at least) so even though it is quad core, your one program will be running at 2.53ghz
