Q: I feel silly even asking this - somehow, I caused a setting to change. The desktop icons on my PC now have a colored box around the description. I went to control panel display to change, and i CAN change the coloring of the box around the description, but not remove the box itself. I know I must have enabled something, but can't figure out WHAT! Help please...
A: Windows XP * Open System Properties in Control Panel, choose the Advanced tab, and click Settings in the Performance section. Turn on the Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop option, and click Ok.
