Q: i have pic on my desktop when i go to open them up they try to open in microsoft word and wont open. I know there is a way to open using the right mouse button and choosing the "open with" method but isnt there a setting that will open the pic without having to choose from a list
A: First right click on the file and select 'properties'. Click on the change button for 'open with' tag.Select the program from the list you wanted. Further on double clicking the file will be opened in that program. Another way is, as you stated in the question select the program in the open with tag and check the box for making the program to open the file default.
