Q: I'm a total newb when it comes to overclocking/tightening times with RAM. I just gave it a try. I need a little advice as to which to raise. I heard that on P4 boards the Cas latency and Act. to Precharge don't have much of a performance gain when tightened so you should higher them a bit for stability help. Is this correct? So Stock was 1200MHz with 5-5-5-12 What is a good oc for this RAM, the best I got so far was lowering to 1000Mhz with 1.1v with 4-4-4-11 timings. Is this good or sh***y? __________________ I have my E8400 OCed to 3.6 with a 1600MHz FSB. And I forgot to mention... System is unstable when I have the RAM set at 1200MHz. Don't know why.
A: 1200 to 1000 generally means you lose an ass load of speed...Just thought I'd mention =) Overclocking DDR1200 RAM isn't really needed unless you do some insane overclocks with your FSB. Don't worry about it, RAM is easy to fry like this.
