Q: this all started when i tried to upgrade from 98 to 2000, this computer does not support a boot from cd its a dell optiplex gxi,so i put a 2000 boot disk in while running 98 and clicked on cd drive and opened the 2000 folder, then setup, it started setting up 2000, after 17 hours of it copying files it said it was restarting,it got to the screen to select 2000 or 98 i hit 2000,it went to the startup2000 and stuck,after a hour of waitng i took the cd out and restarted, it ask which 2000 or 98 i hit 98,it starts 98 but now runs real real slow and when i try to open a web page it says opened but with errors on page and dont connect.what is wrong with this computer.? do i need to delete the messed up 2000,if so how.?
A: Re do the windows 2000 installation but this time click on custom that will give you option to format and install clean windows 2000 do it like this start windows 98 then insert the 2000 cd click on the cd drive then click install and click on custom then follow.
