how do I transfer 46 gigs to another computer?

Q: I don't have a lot of know how with computers. and I don't want to spend all my time burning all 46 gigs to dvd's or cd, because 46 gigs is a lot and even on dvd's it would take a lot of time and disk. too bad I can't burn blue ray because it would all fit on one disk. but anyway here is what I have two computers both with windows vista. different versions of vista. but both with vista. one is vista home and I have no Idea what the other one is. again I do not want to burn dvd's or cd's I have eithernet cables.... that's pretty much all i have

A: if the computers are in the same house... or locations. you can build a simple home network. and just shift the info over via a home network. you'd probably need a router. or set up an ad hoc type network. router is easier. they don't cost that much. you'd have to setup your comp to use the network. not too familiar with vista. but under xp. you'd simply go to your my computer icon... right click it. select properties. and then go to the computer name tab. from there... you "name" the computer and the "workgroup" ...each computer needs a unique name... and identical workgroup. then you create the network... normally in xp there was a simple network ...or "create home network" button... from start menu... my network places. something like that. should be step by step sort of simple. once the network is setup. and both computers are on it... a simple to access the shared folder... and just drag drop the info into the other computer. ...if you don't want to make the network. could buy a external hard drive. 50 gb is probably pretty cheap. hell 100gb is prob pretty cheap. normally they're usb and easily portable. some of those stick flash drives are pretty big these days. might also be an option. could also... look into zipping up the files into one big file. email it to yourself. or if you're confident enough could even do a bit torrent... or use limewire. to put the huge zipped file in your shared docs...or whatever folder limewire uses... name it something specific. and then from the other computer. use limewire to get the file from yourself. ...searching for that particular file name. etc. but. basically. if you don't want to burn the data onto discs. you need either a network to share the data. or use some gimmick to send it to yourself. if you go the home network route... there's plenty of sites for "how to setup a home network" ...basically you need the cables and a router and a bit of brains. vista should... be easier to setup. if you believe MS when they say they make improvements to that sort of thing.
