Q: I am getting a Dell desktop with Windows vista reinstalled (too bad cuz XP is soooooo much better) and I'm going to put Windows XP Home Edition on it too so I was wondering, Can I have 4 gb of ram and have it work with windows vista and have only 3 gb of ram work with windows XP? Basically I will have 2 operating systems and want to have a total of 4 gb of ram but XP 32 bit can only handle 3 gb of ram. If I have 4gb of ram, will XP still work?
A: You question confuses me, so here is the best answer I can give. You can put as much RAM as you want in your PC while running XP and you will not have any problems, the extra RAM will just not be recognized or put to use.
