Ultra Aluminum Case Ultra x3 1000 watt Power Supply 500gig Hard Drive 3-4 gigs of dual channel ram Vista 32 Bit Some Lightscribe drive Yeah that's what i plan on buying. Will it run Crysis on High at 1280x1024 with no AA or AF ? Only respond if you have an awnser unlike the guy who just wrote a question mark on my other post. Thanks.
A: If you wanna game forget about a Q6600 and use an E8400 and up Core 2 Duo instead. Games aren't quad pumped. Gonna run on 2 cores at 2.4Ghz with a 1066FSB with the slower 65nm architecture with the quad while running, for example, 3.16 Ghz on both cores at a 1333FSB and with the faster 45nm on an E8500. I run an E8500 on my Vista gaming rig at 3.8 (9.5X400=1600FSB) 24/7 and it goes over 4 easy. Crysis is the most cpu intensive game I've ever played. Bump the cpu up 20% and the frame rates go up 10%. Vista is the way to go for gaming--DX10---XP and DX9 are yesterdays news in extreme gaming. If someone has to run XP because Vista bogs their rig down too much the reality is that they have a weak rig. I run Vista in one of my gaming rigs and there's nothing slow about it. Maxs Crysis out at all very high even with 2XAA but I'm running 2 Raptors in Raid0, Corsair Dominator ram and 2 4870s in Crossfire on an Asus X48 board. If youre gonna run an Nvidia card make sure you put the latest Nivida drivers in off their website-dont even bother with the ones on the CD. Also put the Crysis 1.2 patch in. Avoid the 1.1 patch--it has bugs. Should be able to run Crysis at high. If Nomad isn't running as fast as he should then you can always go in and tweak the graphics settings. Dont have to run all 12 at the same settings. Main ones you want to run on high are the shaders.
