acer desktop problems - acer technology?

Q: I've got an ACER desktop computer and this stupid box keeps coming up saying that acer technology is having some sort of problem and to reboot computer or re-download the program. first of all, the computer came with no program installation disks and best buy said that if something happened to it that they would have to reinstall or something to the sort. my question is.. can i just remove this ACER empowering technology crap or is this part of the working system of this computer?? thanks ahead

A: Yes you can disable it so it doesn't start when your computer starts. On XP you can goto START> ALL PROGRAMS> STARTUP and right click to delete it. It's just the command to start when your PC starts, you're not deleting the actual program. If you have any problems disabling it, google 'ccleaner' and download it and then use the startup manager included in the program to disable it.
