Q: I have read that dual core processors are better for gaming than quad cores because they don't use all the cores. In future many games are going to work with quad core. Can I use games that work with quad core in the future on my dual core E8300 processor??
A: dual will be higher performance at least for right now until the game programmers work on quad core support and yes the quad core games will run on a dual core. the only time you really need a quad core is video rendering or editing. audio editing. basically anything that involves very heavy number crunching.
