Q: I just bought a new PC without an operating system, I also bought a legitimate OEM copy of windows XP to install on it. It installed fine but didn't ask me for a user name or organisation name. Now if I check system properties in My Computer the 'registered to' fields are defaulted to 'Your User Name' and 'Your Organization Name'. How do I change these to match my personal details? Thanks

If you don't know what you're doing you could seriously mess up your computer so make sure you follow the instructions closely. The values that need to be changed are located in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion
