Q: Can someone please explain the all these terms with the processors, and the difference between AMD, and Intel? 10 To the best answer.
A: AMD and Intel both product processors based on the x86 chipset that was out since DOS came along. 1Ghz is a measure of the frequency with which the processor works. Higher is better. cache is memory closer to the processor so that there is no need to go out to the main memory to fetch the information needed. This is used for speeding up processing speed. The are two caches a level 1 and a level 2 cache and main memory. (from smaller in size / faster to bigger in size but slower) Please also check compukiss Intel and AMD has a different approach. Lately Intel has the upper hand so I would buy Intel right now. It can become very technical to explain the differences between the two CPU producers approach.
