Q: Bad Hard Drive? any help 10 points? i have a lap top computer its a HP lap top i got it about 4 years ago. and i have to send it to mexico. But when i turn it on it wont boor. it sais boot from Hard disk Cd Diskette a LAn and neither work, and i tried re installing windows on it but when i chosea partion it sais an error occured.
A: Check your laptop when you first turn it on. There should be some sort of instruction that will allow you to go into BIOS. Once in BIOS you can check to see if the hard drive is listed. If it is, then go over to the Boot Tab and select it to boot first. If it is not listed then it is probably bad and will need to be replaced. You can check to see if it got dislodged from the connector. Since I don't know the specific model I can't tell you exactly where the hard drive is located but usually it is under a fairly large square panel on the bottom. Good luck
