Q: I was given an old computer by a friend that didn't want it. When i got it the sound was working fine but after i reformatted it, it won't play any sounds. I have tried different speakers using front and back plugs and nothing works. Also the speaker icon in the bottom right of the screen has disappeared . Please help!!! How do i find out what driver i need as the computer is not a certain brand. It is bits and pieces of different brands.
A: You will have to redownload the drivers for the sound card on the computer. Go to the microsoft web site or the computer manufactures web site and find you computer modle there and download the right drivers. Once the drivers are downloaded the computer will have sound again.
